So India made a strong comeback after losing the first test match, they were missing the services of the two key players Ravinder Jadeja and KL Rahul. So let’s talk about this test match.
So India won the test and as expected in Indian conditions they decided to bat first. They did not get the kind of start they wanted, but Jaiswal who had shown tremendous skills and played an amazing inning, scored his first double-hundred to get India to 396. While he scored doublecentury other Indian batters got the start but could not convert the start into a big one. And the debutant Rajat Patidar who looked good before getting out on 32.
Indians were confident after scoring 396 and were expecting their spin trio Kuldeep, Axar, and Ashwin to do the job for them with the support of Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar. But it turned out to be Bumrah’s magical spell of 6 wickets which did not allow England to score more than 253.
Now with a decent lead of 143 runs Indians came to bat again and with a good spell of bowling from Anderson Indians were again in trouble losing two early wickets and now both Iyer and Gill were on crease. Both of them were looking to make a mark as they had not been in good form recently and pressure was mounting on them as everyone was asking questions on their selection despite their poor form. Iyer made a good partnership with Gill but got out on an individual score of 29 while trying to play an attacking shot. On the other hand, Gill looked determined and was playing very maturely and also took calculated risks against spin bowling and scored and brilliant century. After picking Gill’s wicket India’s lower order could not add many runs and the Indian team got out on 255. And set the target of 399 for England.
And we all know the brand of cricket the England team plays nothing is impossible for them, and their veteran fast bowler Anderson said no matter if we need to chase 600 we will go for it, we will not look to go for draw. In response to chasing 399 England’s opener, Zak Crawley scored 73 and played some really good shots, but 399 runs proved too many England batters to chase in front of a Brilliant India bowling attack. Bumrah and Ashwin shared 3 wickets each in the second inning to secure victory for India. Jasprit Bumrah rightfully earned the Man of the Match accolade for his stellar bowling performance, showcasing his mastery regardless of the pitch conditions. Now with series is level and three more games to go.
