Following a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Xinjiang, China, intense tremors were felt in the Delhi-NCR region, resulting in injuries and the collapse of several homes.
After a seismic event measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale struck southern Xinjiang, China, on Monday night, rapid tremors were experienced in the Delhi-National Capital Region.
The National Center for Seismology reported, “Earthquake Magnitude: 7.2, 22-01-2024, 23:39:11 IST, Latitude: 40.96, Longitude: 78.30, Depth: 80 km, Location: Southern Xinjiang, China.”
Officials stated that there are reports of injuries to several individuals along the Kyrgyzstan-Xinjiang border, and some homes have collapsed. Following the earthquake, the Xinjiang Railway Department suspended operations and immediately halted 27 trains.
